Culture of Cuisine Brazilian style
There is a certain sentimentality in the act of sharing food.
How we come together, how we nurture and how we can create the experience of home through taste. It is innate, a way to feed our bodies and our souls. The food we consume tells a story that reminds us of how we are a part of the land. Family gatherings, the tradition of recipes, generations sharing their cooking to all create a lineage of culture; an experience to enjoy the abundance of what we come from.
The cuisine of Brazil varies by region, heavily influenced and inspired from the mix of native and immigrant populations from places like Portugal, Italy, Spain and Germany.
The differences in ingredients and styles are still preserved today in many of the popular national dishes. Some of these dishes include feijoada, known as the country's national dish and is commonly consumed in Rio de Janeiro. The ingredients are just black beans, manioc flour, eggs, sausage, and pururuca-style crispy fried pork. Others include beiju, polenta (from Italian cuisine) and acarajé from (African cuisine).
Food always tells a story of the land. Brazil’s cuisine combines the products that the Portugese brought when they settled in the 1500s with locally grown food and immigrant influence. There is a beautiful tradition in the stories of Brazil’s food, like the mixing of African and Portugese flavors in the style of Bahian food. It is in here we can witness the assorted and dynamic mix of culture that creates the feeling and taste of Brazil.
We believe culture is to be shared, something to inspire.
